SEVENTY

Photobucket

Wow. Robin, that is so cool. -K
Isn't it, though? It's called a Foucault's pendulum. Hard to tell the size of it from the picture, but the ball itself weighs about 240 lbs. It knocks one of those little blocks down roughly every 15 minutes due to the earth's rotation;the pendulum swings from a fixed point. Though it seems that if the earth were rotating, that the pendulum would too. Can't wrap my brain around that. Perhaps that's why I teach English. Wish I had carried the zoom lens with me to capture the reflections better, but I still like how the pic turned out. -R

About This Blog

We started this blog as a commitment to ourselves and each other to do one thing creative each day. We both have a love of photography and are interested in improving our camera and picture editing skills. Our initial goal was to post one pic each every day for a year. We'll see where that takes us. Thanks for joining us in the process. Constructive comments are always welcome.
