FORTY SEVEN

forty seven

I wish I knew how to take a photograph able to convey the shape and size of this stained glass dome; perhaps that's a task for another kind of lens. ("The Dome" at First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, MS, circa 1913.)

On another note, I love your dandelion. I keep watching for one, but all we have are mushrooms and a seven-year old upset about "all the fungus growing in our yard." -K

I've been waiting for the Dome pic; I thought it would have to show up sooner or later. Did you take it at night or day? You did a great job on it, though I think it would be almost impossible to depict it fully. I don't think there's a lens that can do that. Definitely something you have to experience in person.
That dandelion is an oddity. We get plenty in the spring, never in the fall that I've ever noticed. Just one lone dandelion hanging out by itself in the back corner of the yard. -R

Took the picture during the day, but it's artificial back-lighting. The Dome is covered and visible only from inside the sanctuary; otherwise, Katrina would have ripped it off. (An end our dear old Mr. George says would have been the best thing to happen to the church. He finds the Dome to be a distraction.) -K

About This Blog

We started this blog as a commitment to ourselves and each other to do one thing creative each day. We both have a love of photography and are interested in improving our camera and picture editing skills. Our initial goal was to post one pic each every day for a year. We'll see where that takes us. Thanks for joining us in the process. Constructive comments are always welcome.
